Grön materialism?

För er som är intresserade av grön ideologi eller av filosofi i allmänhet, vill jag passa på att tipsa om en grön idédebatt som äger rum på Karl Palmås blogg (del1, del2). Inläggen syftar till att bredda den ideologiska debatten och koppla den gröna ideologin till kontinentalfilosofin med utgångspunkt i filosofer som Gilles Deleuze, Bruno Latour, Felix Guattari och Manuel Delanda. Man kan se detta som ett försök att bygga vidare och vitalisera den flödesontologiska traditionen (uppfattar verkligheten som flöden) som har sin utgångspunkt i filosofer som Lucretius och Spinoza. Är vi på väg mot en ekologisk materialism? Och på vilket sätt kan den hjälpa oss att förstå vår omvärld? Statsvetaren Jane Bennett:

” Drawing upon Spinoza, Deleuze, Bruno Latour, and Manuel DeLanda, this essay explores the recalcitrance and moments of vitality in nonhuman things. It seeks to give expression to this "thing-power" or capacity of (not-specifically-human) materials to provoke and alter human actions. Thing-power materialism is offered as a competitor alongside the historical materialism of Marx and the body materialism of feminist and cultural studies. I figure materiality as a protean flow of matter-energy, and figure the thing as a relatively composed form of that flow. I try to describe the energetic forces that course through humans and cultures without being exhausted by them. The second part of the essay considers challenges posed by Adorno's philosophy of "nonidentity." For Adorno, a materialism like mine, which fleshes out an ontological imaginary of things and their powers, can be nothing but a flight of fancy that fails to respect the inherent obscurity of the thing. In response, I defend my "naive realism" for its more acute ability to bring thing-power to light. I conclude by considering whether greater sensitivity to thing-power can induce a stronger sense of ecological responsibility.”
